The Mobile 3D City application enables iPhone users to navigate in Paris using true 3D imagery with a fluidity and visual quality that is currently unrivalled by any other mobile telephone or computer application. This application is not limited to the role of a GPS for pedestrians. In fact, the user can also access useful and interesting tourism information such as the history and functions of the various buildings and sights of the city. This Cityguide also references more than 2000 points of interest in the city (restaurants, hotels, cinemas, theatres, cafes, etc.) and can also calculate your travel itinerary. Numerous additional contents are also offered in order to facilitate day to day living. Addressing the requirements of both city-residents and visiting tourists, no Internet connection is required once the application has been installed in the telephone and so the user avoids paying significant roaming fees.
The choice of Paris for the first Cityguide was easily made. As the world's No.1 tourist destination, the architecture and history of Paris provides an endless source of interest and fascination. Paris will be followed by other major capitals over the course of the coming months.
Soon the application will be available for certain Windows Mobile, Google Android, and Symbian S60 terminals.
