The Urban Planner is a medium resolution database of accurate and up-to-date terrain, clutter, vectors and orthoimagery. It allows for accurate propagation modeling, frequency planning and analysis of network capacity and site overlap in the macro-cellular network environment.

Using advanced mapping techniques, it is possible to accurately model the network environment prior to actual physical deployment of network infrastructure. This allows engineers to understand the characteristics of radio wave propagation in that particular environment (including the effects of reflection, diffraction and scattering) and develop an optimum network design.

Applications
The Region Planner database allows RF planners to quickly visualize terrain and clutter over large regions or whole countries.
The Urban Planner can then assist with modeling, planning and analysis in the macrocellular network environment and the City Planner datasets in the microcellular environment. It is also valuable in the fixed wireless environment, allowing planners to reliably predict coverage and optimize the location of transmitters.
The City Planner database provides an accurate Digital Surface Model (DSM) which allows for line-of-sight calculation required by Local Multipoint Distribution Services (LMDS).
